A true beaching it day! I brought a picnic lunch to the beach today and decided it was time to test my walking ability on the sand. Total success! Except for my back which will improve greatly when I get home. Next year I will be able to walk along the water for as long as I want!

Without a doubt my favorite beach is Gulf Islands National Park. The sand is fabulous and the beach is not too wide. It was a little cloudy today so the blues weren't very predominant. I was a little hesitant about going so far - about an hour from here. But it is sure a lot closer than St. Germain!
Back at the campsite I took a brief nap then made dinner. I sprayed the area with bug spray before I started cooking and it worked pretty well. Dinner was delicious - scallops and bacon and brown rice and beans. Mighty tasty!
So a campfire breakfast tomorrow. Love the mornings - the coffee, the birds singing, the quiet - puts you in a great mood entirely. My favorite thing about this site is the old oak tree here.

Gives plenty of shade throughout the day
Time for me to call it a night. Sweet dreams all!
