Don't get me wrong, I love the Northwoods and would never live anywhere else. But this area is da bomb when it comes to beaching it! No, it doesn't have that beautiful blue Caribbean waters. But the emerald to teal to turquoise to blue on a sunny day is so beautiful.
Then there are the incredible number of beaches that are so uncrowded.
I started coming to this area in the early 80s with my ex husband. Back then it was called the "Redneck Riviera" for its casual ambiance. We stayed at a condo on the beach in Gulf Shores.
Back then you could find oysters for a dime at happy hour time.Seafood Gumbo was the go to food and still pretty much is. I am hitting the Shrimp Basket for lunch tomorrow for 47 cent oysters. There is some place in Pensacola that has 25 cent oysters for the first dozen. On average you can plan on spending $15 a dozen giver or take a buck or two for off the menu ordering.

A friend of mine had asked if I had been at Sea and Suds yet. I quickly checked it out and decided that was tonight's dinner spot. It was delightful. My server was a charming young lady named Bria and we had a fun time.I can't wait to come back when it is sunny out!

Time is winding down here and I really don't want to leave If I can't have spring at home I want beach here! The campground really cleared out this morning - about 1/3 empty. I am going to keep checking. Maybe Lady Luck will shine on me!
Wednesday I may be hooking up with a very close friends of my parents. We will finalize details tomorrow. But for now the bugs are driving me nuts and I am going to sign off!
Sweet dreams and sleep tight!
