Great news! I found a campground to stay at after New Orleans. I am just not ready to say goodbye to the beach, The name is the Gulf Coast RV Campground in Gulf Shores. Not the prettiest of campsites and not at all private like I have here. But it is only 5 miles from the beach and that is my most important amenity. And it is pretty reasonable.

I used my Passport America info to book this and once again I am quite pleased. It saved me a substantial amount of money and I get to add a week to my adventure. After hearing the weather forecast for the next two weeks, I think I will be much happier here! If you haven't heard of Passport America, check them out. I made my membership fee back in one night's savings.

I slept in for a bit this morning, catching up on the night before's lack of sleep. I spread cayenne pepper all around the canopy and it seemed to work pretty well! At least I had no raccoon in here last night.

OK - I ate the oysters - here is the cracker basket...

I had lunch today at the Shrimp Basket - oysters for $.47 two dozen was a little over $11.00.

After lunch I went and got my Senior Pass for the Interagency Lands - $20 for a year or a lifetime pass for $80. You can also save your annual pass cards and when you have four, cash them in for the lifetime pass. Pretty good deal!

A lot of the architecture down here looks very similar to this neighborhood.

I made my way to the beach. It was a nice day on and off. I managed to sneak in a 30 minute nap. Then it was off to Win Dixie for strawberry shortcake fixins and on to George's for drinks and a hamburger dinner on the beautiful deck. Dave from Beaver Dam was there, too as he bought a place there as well. This area is pretty intoxicating!

Tomorrow I am having lunch with Rev. Chuck Randle and his daughter Lynas. Will be so great to see this wonderful man again! Last time I saw Lynas she was 12, I think! LOL

Well it's time to wind down. Maybe tonight I can stay awake long enough to watch some TV!

The surf was a bit rough today due to spotty storms.
