Goodbye Bluff Springs. It was a gorgeous morning after a pretty chilly night - come to think of it - this morning wasn't all that warm!

Even with last night's cold temps, the Daffodil is thriving!

A crisp, gorgeous morning!

I was on the road by 10:00 a.m. and traffic was negligible - thank heavens!

A shot of the Escambia River as I was leaving.

It was a very easy drive 29 to 292 right to the park! Can't beat that. Gas prices fell a little today, too. Yesterday they were mostly $2.79 again but down here they fell to $2.52. Not great - but better. I think I will make sure I am in Alabama before I fill again.

Now this is the kind of white ground I was looking for!

Hello teal and emerald waters, hello white sand, hello Big Lagoon State Park. The rangers are great people. Justin even helped me get a part on my cargo trailer unstuck!

I am very pleased with my campsite. It is a bit small but very visually private. You really can't see into the adjoining sites even at night! You sure can tell you are in Florida - low growth and no tall trees but it is very lush. Unfortunately there are no water vistas. The camp hosts are also very friendly. I think I am going to enjoy my stay here!

After Justin unstuck the support wheel, I unhitched the cargo trailer and took off exploring. First stop - the Oyster Bar for lunch! Oh yeah, great Seafood Gumbo, a dozen oysters (of course) some special chips they make and two glasses of Chardonnay. YUMMM!

Then it was onto the beach. I drove down to Gulf Shores State Park. This is a beautiful stretch of unspoiled, virgin beach. It was gorgeous - the white sand against the blues and greens of the Gulf. I found a great stretch of beach that had only a few people on it. It was a short walk to the waters edge - that's for me!

I made a stop to buy some Royal Red shrimp - $13 lb. for 10/15 count. Tomorrow, garlic and lemon shrimp over pasta!

Yeah, I know, I was planning on making it tonight but I set up about half my site when I got back and was too pooped to cook. So I had some cottage cheese. Worked for me!

After I finish here I am going to turn in, watch some TV shows - maybe one - and drift off.

Nite y'all!
