I am in the process of setting up a new site for my blog, but this news is so exciting I couldn't wait for the construction time. Welcome to one of the newest businesses in Arbor Vitae and Cryo Sculpting. This is a relatively new process that melts fat untouchable by dieting and exercise. I was intrigued the first time I saw a TV commercial about body fat melted with the use of Cryolipolysis.

Loosely described, this method of melting fat by applying a cooling device that kills fat cells which are eventually removed from the body through the lymphatic system. This procedure is also often referred to as Cool-Sculpting.

Bringing this amazing process to this area is Sixel's Cryo Sculpt, located in the mini-mall at 1400 HIghway 51, right next to Coontail. The owner of this exciting new business is Vicki Schmolze Sixel who, with her husband Dave, runs Sixel's Circuit Fit gym.

Many know Vicki who is from St. Germain. Her family owned the ever-so charming Leisure Lodge. It broke our hearts to lose the historic log structure in a fire in the early 2000s. Dave is well known for his excellence in fitness and Martial Arts and she works with him at both the Eagle River and Arbor Vitae locations.

Vicki has a long-time interest in Lipolysis (the freezing of fats cells that are destroyed and eliminated from the body). She opened her business on June 29 in the same location as the Arbor Vitae gym. "I felt this would be a great fit with the gym!" said Vickie. Rightly so! The pursuit of a great, healthy body is the goal of both businesses.

Vicki worked in the surgical field for more than 25 years. When the department where she last worked was closed, she worked with Dave in the gym. However, she was looking to do more.

Not only was she excited to get into Cryolipolysis, but

she also wanted to make this type of procedure far more affordable than the thousands of dollars charged by clinics in larger cities.

Needless to say, I was thrilled that my friend was in a field I was also tremendously interested in. So I enthusiastically made an appointment for July 7 as soon as she opened.

As many of you know, I am a large woman who has had brief moments of glory when the rare dieting plan worked temporarily. This along with entering my golden years has deposited fat in a couple of areas dieting will not fix. Number one - the double (or more) chin and the (bat wings) on my upper arms.

Before Cryolipolysis, the only answer to shrinking these areas was plastic surgery, with unpredictable outcomes in addition to a painful under-the-knife process. With this new freezing treatment, there is no pain, no needed recovery time, and minute risk.

On July 7 I had my first treatment (See below) and this is what my chin looked like. This is a gradual process and usually requires more than one visit. Though obese people are not candidates for this process, the areas I am working on should respond.

Lying prone on a very comfortable table, Vicki began by applying a cool gel to my chin(s) area. She then began massaging the entire area with an apparatus that had a blue light and was warming. ????? I thought this was a freezing process.

When I asked her, she explained that I was having the RF Cavitation treatment. This was for areas that not only needed fat elimination but skin toning as well. That was me for sure! "This uses concentrated radio and sound heat/energy to tighten skin and deliver fat reduction and increases cell activity and fat burning," she explained. "In addition, we offer Laser Lipo - this is similar to Cryolipolysis but instead of killing and removing fat cells Laser Lipo shrinks them. This process is more ideal for people with minimal areas and only small problem areas."

The machine that Vicki uses is a multi-function model manufactured by Aimylin. There are a variety of heads that are for use on different parts of the body as well as the type of treatment. Just about any area on the body that has stubborn fat that has not responded well to diet and exercise can see amazing results. Even her super-fit husband Dave is having Cryolipolysis on his stubborn "love handles".

After a very relaxing treatment, we scheduled my next one for a week later. Needless to say, I was very anxious to get home to see if I could see any difference. A bit too soon, but later in the week I noticed the mass below my God-given chin seemed to have shifted.

Treatment #2, July 16. Here is where the chin(s) was (were) today. (See below) Definitely smaller and there is a noticeable shift especially in the front-facing picture. Can't wait to see the next set of pictures. This time we will use flash to get better color detail. We are going to wait a couple of weeks to let my chin "catch up" to the treatments.

Let me tell you, it is TERRIFYING to see how bad things got with my chin. I have all the faith in the world this is going to help a lot! I still need to drop a lot of weight but every little bit of progress is a real motivator.

So how would I describe the treatments? First of all, very relaxing. Vicki glides the warm appliance over the gel, gently massaging the chin. It is very soothing. One could easily fall asleep if one would quit talking. Yes, I am the one.

So next is treatment number three and I will be back with pictures. Stay tuned!
